Partner 1: Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas

The Agencia Estatal Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC) is the largest public multidisciplinary research organisation in Spain with more than 5000 employees and an annual budget of more than 500M€. Since its origins CSIC has a broad history of collaborations with different national and international public and private entities and has a wide expertise in multidisciplinary and international collaborative projects.
The hosting group involved in ACMOL is the Nanomol Group. Nanomol is part of the Molecular Nanoscience and Organic Materials department at the Materials Science Institute of Barcelona (ICMAB) which belongs to CSIC.
Currently Nanomol has 39 members (senior researchers, Post-docs, PhDs and technicians) and has access to all the required equipments and installations for the successful synthesis and characterization of organic molecules as well as the study of their self-assembly on surfaces. In addition, at ICMAB there is a Scientific and Technological Services Unit available for all scientists and it comprises a specially designed clean room and wide range of conventional and advanced materials characterization and testing techniques, such as probe and electron microscopies (AFM, STM, SEM, TEM), spectroscopies (IRAS, IR-ATR, UV-Vis, Fluorescence, NMR, EPR), contact angle, among others.
As a group, Nanomol is actively involved in implementing nanotechnology and sustainable and economically efficient technologies for preparing advanced functional molecular materials. For this reason, Nanomol continuously generates new knowledge in their basic and applied research projects regarding the micro and nano structuring of molecular materials and the development of new functional properties.
